Could his eyes get any bluer?

Get a load of these gorgeous neon blue eyes!

Jack's First Easter

Well Easter has come and gone. Our baby is growing up too fast right before our eyes. Here's a few photos of the day. Mark had to work, so it was just Jack and I who drove up to Fondy.

Clap clap clap

Jack's a clapper now - you say clap your hands Jack and he'll do it - he looks so proud when he does it and you praise him. He's also doing this thing where he scrunches up his face when you do it to him - here's a picture to prove it.

The last of the England photos

All in all our trip went swimmingly with only a few snags. We know that Jack is going to be a seasoned traveler - we already booked tickets to Florida at the end of April!!

Jack's 9 month check-up

Jack had his 9 month check up today with Dr. P. Jack weighs in at 22 lbs 12 oz and 29.5" long. We can't believe he's getting so big!! He's still in the 80th percentile for height and weight but 9 months already!!! I'm already in the planning stages for his 1st Birthday party - I can't even believe it. Time is just flying by and neither one of us is ready for it. He will forever and always be our baby.

We arrived in England!

You did so well when the plane took off and when we landed - we gave you a bottle and had no problems with your ears. We waited until we were the last ones off the plane so it would give the baggage staff enough time to bring our stroller and carseat - well after a few dumbfounded looks, we were told they were on the baggage carousel instead of waiting for us at the gate. So we had a long walk with 3 bags, blankets and a baby to customs. Needless to say we weren't happy. Got through the line and down to the carousel and got you in your stroller. Then we were off to the train! Here's Jack on the train after a change of clothes and a clean diaper. Happy little monkey!Once we got on the train to Nottingham, you ate and had a bottle then passed out on me. You were so pooped. Grandma and Granddad met us at the train station in Nottingham which was nice. We got to the house and put you on the floor with toys and you were happy as a clam.
You met so many people and didn't have a problem with any of them. You put out your arms to go to different people - we were surprised. Sometimes you never know if you'll cry or not with strangers, but you had no trouble at all. You also had no trouble with the time change - you are so resilient and you made it very easy on us!

Jack's first trip to England

On March 6 we took off for O'Hare for Jack's very first plane journey to England. This is a picture of Jack while we were waiting for our boarding passes at check-in.
We went to sit down for a bit and have a drink - we thought Jack might take a bit of a nap, but he didn't. We took these just before we got in the security line.We went through security and we had to put everything on the belt including bags, stroller, carseat, shoes, and all of our liquids we had to have in clear baggies so they could check them. They confiscated Jack's bedtime lotion, Mark's deodorant and our toothpaste because they were over the 3 oz minimum. We understand that they have to do it, but our stuff was maybe 1 oz over. Oh well, we know for next time. We had a few hours to kill so Jack just played on the floor at the gate. Luckily we were able to get a bassinet seat along with 4 seats so that was fantastic. Our question of the trip was - where's Jack's nuk?

Just playing with my wipes.

Me and my sea horse rattleChewing on a wagon wheelIt's our plane!!!Once we boarded and got all of our stuff sorted, we fed Jack, then put his jimjams on and this was the beginning of our long flight - he snoozed the whole way once we got the bassinet in - such a trooper! Everyone couldn't believe he hadn't made a sound through the whole flight. We were definitely lucky.

Some firsts

You said mama for the first time and we also think you said hi as well. You pulled yourself up on your knees as if to crawl but fell back and scooted backwards instead. Unfortunately you also fell off the bed for the first time - you cried briefly but then realized you were okay. We didn't think it was too bad that you were almost 9 months before that happened.
